Dealing with Headaches & Migraines Naturally: Part 1

migraines_0507

Migraines – if you have ever had one, then you know how awful they can be, how painful, how down right debilitating. No one really knows what causes migraines, or those stress headaches that mimic the symptoms of migraines and invariably leave you sensitive to light, in pain, and unable to function.

Over the counter medications become useless, and even prescription medications fail to help – how could they, when no one really understands why headaches even exist? Fortunately, there are a number of … unconventional, natural methods which may be able to give you some relief.

For example, muscle rubs can help – did you know that? The kind which contains blue mentholate is typically best. When rubbed on your temples, your forehead, your neck, and other pressure points on your head, such as the hollows just behind and below your ears, you will be surprised at how much relief you can experience.

Now, your humble author does not know why this happens – but speaking from personal experience, she does know that it works!

I have been studying my migraines and triggers for years now, and have eliminated all but the barometer. I will get one debilitating migraine for 3-4 days before a storm or drastically changing weather.
I have found that taking Melatonin (Natural sleep aid) helps lessen the severity. You will still get them but manageable.
