<p>A lot of people think that having high cholesterol automatically means that you have to start taking medication.  However, that does not have to be the case at all.  We have already looked at a few great ways you can naturally lower your cholesterol.  Eating right can seriously help you &#8212; fruits, vegetables, whole wheat grains, lean meat, poultry and fish: these are all foods which can significantly lower your cholesterol.  Regular exercise can do woders for you, especially when it involves a good, comprehensive cardiovascular workout.  But these are not all the things you can do to naturally lower your cholesterol.</p>
<p><span id="more-26"></span>If you are not keen on taking medications for your cholesterl problem, then you might consider taking herbal supplements as a means of natural treatment.  There are a number of vitamins and herbal supplements which can be extremely beneficial in lowering cholesterol.  You might find them preferable to the most common cholesterol medications, due to the fact that they offer a very low risk of side effects and will not make you feel sick while you are taking them.  When coupled with a healthy diet and a good exercise program, they can provide a substantial amount of help.</p>

<p>Last time, we started talking about how you can lower your cholesterol naturally.  Specifically, we talked about how the right kinds of foods can help you to be healthy.  A nutritious, healthy, and balanced diet is unquestionably important &#8212; but, you know, diet can only take you so far.  You can&#8217;t lose weight just by dieting, and you can&#8217;t lower your cholesterol just by dieting, either.  Oh, the foods you eat can do you a lot of good, sure &#8212; but you can take those levels down even more.</p>

<p>When you want to lower your cholesterol exponentially, then exercise is key.  You don&#8217;t have to go all out, get a gym membership, and spend all your free time on the treadmill or anything like that though.  All you really need to do is engage in some regular exercise.  Cardiovascular exercises are best.  So, you could do aerobics in your living room three times a week, you could take a bike ride around the park, you could even just make sure you walk around your neighborhood a few afternoons every week.  When coupled with a healthy, well balanced diet, regular exercise will not only improve your overall health, it will make your cholesterol drop as well!</p>

<p>So with all of the talk lately about people’s cholesterol, I thought it might be a good idea to give all of my faithful readers a bit of information on how to lower their cholesterol naturally, without all of those harsh medications that doctors are constantly giving their patients.  Now, I am not saying that if you have a serious cholesterol problem you should not see your doctor, but there are a few things that you can do by yourself first.</p>

<p>All right folks, you ready?  It’s a new year after all and we should all be a little more health-conscious and this is just the first step!  The very first thing you want to do is cut out a lot of the food that is high in cholesterol.  This includes fatty red meats, goose/duck meat as well as most turkey and chicken and shellfish.  Now, you are probably wondering what you are going to eat!  Beans, lentils, veggies and fruits are all things that will help you in the long run.</p>
<p>While you may not want to live off of some of those foods, in order to at least lower your cholesterol for a long period of time, cutting back on the meats is a great idea.  More on this topic in the next post folks stay tuned!</p>
