Dandruff is not only an uncomfortable problem, it is a potentially embarrassing one as well. No one wants to suddenly discover a bunch of flakes on your shoulders, after all.
Now, of course, there are a veritable ton of shampoos which claim to be able to help dandruff — and maybe they do help some folks. However, many of these shampoos use chemicals to take care of dandruff, and maybe chemicals are not the best thing to be scrubbing into your poor, dry, flaking scalp.
You should instead look for shampoos which contain melaleuca alternifolia plant oil — better known simply as tea tree oil. The Australian plant’s oil contains elements which make it both anti fungal and an antiseptic.
Of course, if you have tea tree oil, you can just mix it with a gentle shampoo. Ten drops of the oil to every eight ounces of shampoo should do the trick quite well. You can add the oil to your conditioner as well.
